Fruit Diet : Risk And Benefits

A fruit diet may be a vegan diet made up mostly of raw fruits. People who follow this diet can also eat some vegetables, seeds, and nuts, but they typically eat only raw foods and avoid grains. Adopting a fruitarian diet doesn’t mean you eat only fruit. Instead, diet descriptions say raw fruit should make up no more than 75 per cent of foods consumed. I advise patients to keep their fruit intake to no more than 50 per cent to avoid any nutritional imbalances.

Transition Your Diet

Transition your diet to incorporate a spread of fruits. And make certain to incorporate nuts, seeds and vegetables with every meal because they’re going to provide the fat and protein you would like . Potassium may also reduce the risk of developing kidney stones and help to decrease bone loss as you age.Life has not touched them so they enjoy a part of them being dead. Sleep, intoxication, overeating and just lying down feels better than life , active and dynamic. Fruit may be a problem only for such a person because it will keep you alert and awake. It does not keep you intoxicated, unless it ferments of course! And one can know an extreme sense of joy, intoxication and a deep pleasure out of heightened levels of awareness also.

A fruitarian diet may include plenty of fruits commonly considered to be vegetables, such as:

avocados
tomatoes
cucumbers
peppers
olives
squash

Fruits are packed with vitamins and anti-oxidants, including vitamin C and beta-carotene, and some existing research shows fruits can reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases.You might lose weight on the fruitarian diet, but I don’t consider this a real benefit. Any losses are likely to disappear if you abandon the diet, and your weight will creep copy .

In 2013, actor Ashton Kutcher was hospitalized with pancreatic problems after following a fruitarian diet to get into character as Steve Jobs for the movie Jobs. Jobs, the late founder and CEO of Apple, had some strange eating habits, such as the tendency to only eat one or two foods for extended periods of time. His fruit-only eating habits actually helped inspire the name of the famous tech company. Jobs died of pancreatic cancer in 2011.

The motivation

The motivation for adopting a fruitarian diet differs among people, but primary motivators are thought to be health reasons and/or religious, moral, or ethical factors. Like paleo advocates, many fruitarian followers tout the diet as the original diet of mankind.Recently, the fruitarian diet has seen a surge in popularity along with veganism and raw-food diets. The tiers seem to get more and more restrictive. Veganism means eating only plant-based foods. A raw-food diet is essentially veganism (though some consume raw eggs and dairy) that excludes foods that have been heated, refined, pasteurized, or otherwise treated. Finally, fruitarianism means eating only raw fruit, nuts and seeds.

How It Works

To be considered fruitarian, at least 50 to 75 per cent of your calories must come from raw fruit, such as bananas, papayas, grapes, apples, and berries. Usually, the other 50 to 25 per cent of your calories would come from nuts, seeds, vegetables, and grains. Strict fruitarians, however, may eat up to 90 per cent fruit and just 10 per cent nuts and seeds.
